JVC LT26DE9 LT32DE9 LT26DE1 LT32DE1 problems

These models all have an HDD recorder built in. Based on the Humax 9200/ 9150 series, they are pretty reliable. With digital switchover now being phased in around the uk, when there is partial switchover there have been slight problems. There is a software update that is available to stop the units ...

Hi Thanks for that info. The most common voltage rail to give trouble is the 12v feed to the DVD drive (yellow pin on the 4 way connector) Often adding a small cap onto this pin and the negative/earth pin next to it will prove it. The correct capacitor on the pcb should still be changed, but this me...

Response is as above.

If anyone with this model has the circuit references of any capacitors that they replace I would be grateful

I haven't come across the MH220, and therefore its likely just to be a more modern variation with different circuit boards, hence the component references aren't the same. However the fault is likely to be the same, so change some of the capacitors- in particular the ones feeding the 12v and 5v rail...

Not seen an Mpeg flicker problem before. I do have one working machine and another just missing a lead I robbed that could be used to canibalise to supply parts, if you really want to get one going

First try unplugging/rebooting the JVC to see if its just memory corruption giving the timer problem. I presume you have also turned off the PDC on timer? Can't help on which would be the best option to replace it with. The Humax I have experience of and apart from occasional glitches doesn't ever s...

If the drawer will open then it has booted so far and is then requesting data from the HDD which I suspect will be corrupted :( The Advisor software can now be loaded to try to repair it....but I doubt it will...I've not heard of anyone getting the software to work! An Hdd clone from a good machine ...

I recently observed a different drive in a machine that I was hoping to clone from. Sizes were slightly different so Ghost wouldn't do it. I can't help feeling that if we could image most of the data onto the drive then it should work....Ghost won't let you...maybe another prog would. As for exact m...

It certainly is worth considering the fan too.

I have in the past altered the circuit to make it run continuously, but a little slower too, so the owner doesn't complain about the 24hr whirring noise!
