Can you be a bit more specific on the actual symptom you get? There is a common(ish) problem on these where the unit will be 'dead' usually after plugging back in, where it was ok before being unplugged. The 7500 doesnt have the tilting head assembly so won't have the same initialisation problem. I ...

Does it come out of standby with the remote? If it stops saying 'loading' then it must have correctly completed boot up. I haven't come across this display but wondered if it was in childlock mode? press+hold stop then press eject perhaps... see instruction book The instructions say 'lock' appears f...

Hi Good news yours is still working The electrolytic capacitors can if, left to sit for months/years, not smooth as good as they did, so leaving powered up will often bring them back from the brink. The moral is don't leave electrical gear unpowered for too long especially when old. As for booting u...

Sorry to have thrown you with not having a vertical board... this was the similar RX9, I now remembe...

The only successful way to do it is a direct clone of the drive. We have tried to rip an image but JVC fill the entire 80Gb with random data that won't compress when trying to put that on a DVDr. I have UK discs to be able to use, (is yours UK spec?) so I would need you to post the drive here for me...

There is no internal 'reset' switch . If the blue light does not stay on then the hard drive has become corrupt. The machine has a very limited ability to recover from this corruption. Normally we just have to clone a working 'image' from a good drive to it. you will of course lose all recordings yo...
