Hello All,
I've got the USB Debug unit up and running.....(I'll post some pictures)
Found out that some of the Decoders firmware is located on the harddisk,
not only the encoder firmware.....
At this moment I'm able to the following job :
- detect flash make,type,model,etc....
- read flash memory,
- read sdram memory
- possible internal registers
(at this moment i'm very carefull no to destroy the beast).
When all test are okay I'll try to modify the firmware to use a fresh
Maxtor 160GB harddisk (DiamondMax17,6G160P0).
will post some more.....

Geert Jan,
You have the brain the size of a planet. I can't believe you've got so far with the old girl. Well done!
Tell you what, can you make it work with a 500GB drive? That way, when I come to sell mine on eBay, it will make more than the lousy sum I'm likely to get with just a 40GB drive in there!
Keep up the excellent work,
Andy.
