Hi
I have a HR-s9800u that shuts down after turned on and buzzing sounds occur. I have found 2 cracked gears and 2 cracked couplings within the tilt head mechanism. Do you know if these parts are available or shall I fix them?
Also, what position should each lift shaft be in at assembly? Is there a timing issue?

Thanks in advance
Randal

Sorry for the late reply. I had only just seen this post.

The metal shafts through the gears are too tight and eventually the plastic gears split. They are not available :(
You had to buy a complete head assembly

Hi Andy

I repaired the gears and got the tilt motor feedback working. Since the head alignment is far from be aligned, I installed a old 9911u head assmy. I had lying around. Works good. Now my other 9800u has cracked gears as well. Fixing them is not the hard part.....its setting the height adjustments when done I'm worried about. Have you ever attempted this?

Thanks

The positioning of the gears is critical, that I do remember.

there was never any technical to show a procedure on how to do this.

I did make 2 into one once, but did have some issues getting it to line up under all slow mo and shuttle modes. The customer was happy to have a machine that played at all, as it is normally the jammed gears that stops the machine from initializing and working at all- just going back to standby since it detects the head doesn't move correctly.

Can JVC Audio/Hi-fi Products transport us to parallel musical dimensions where sound becomes tangible and transcends our perception of reality, or are they simply limited to mundane auditory experiences?
